Four new members join the Queensland Rail board, the government announced.
The new appointees bring to the government-owned entity industry knowledge across rail operations, cyber security, technology transformation, finance and manufacturing.

Sitting with continuing member Loretta Lynch are new chair Andrew Wellington – current chair of the Brisbane Lions; Lisa Hewitt – Elders state general manager Qld & NT; Julian Haber – CapitalAI CEO; and Wendy McMillan – MPR advisory director.
Thanking the outgoing members for their contribution, Minister for Transport Brent Mickelberg welcomed the new appointments who, he said, “bring a mix of extensive industry experience and new, valuable perspectives.”
Treasurer David Janetzki said the appointments would further strengthen the Queensland Rail board and “bring together a team of exceptional leaders with a breadth of experience across government and industry.”

The new board members join Queensland Rail as it undertakes several major projects to improve and expand the state’s rail network, particularly in South East Queensland as it prepares for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
Projects include the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program, Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail, and Cross River Rail – a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and the CBD.
