Tasmania has appointed its 27th Governor

Justice Peter Underwood has been appointed as the state’s 27th Governor.

He formerly served as Chief Justice and Lieutenant Governor. Chief Justice Underwood was appointed a judge of the Supreme Court in 1984 after a distinguished legal career and became Chief Justice in December 2004. Justice Underwood was sworn in as Governor on the 2 April replacing retiring Governor, Mr William Cox.
