Senior NSW public servant quits post

The NSW Department of Customer Services’s top public servant has announced she is quitting to make way for new leadership.

Emma Hogan

Emma Hogan served as NSW Public Service Commissioner between May 2018 and October 2019, when she was appointed to head Customer Service.

She’s also served as non-exectuvie director of the NSW Telco Authority and Destination NSW.

Ms Hogan said working for NSW had been the greatest privilege of her professional career.

“After four years as Secretary, I have decided the time is right to step aside, take a break, and make space for a change of leadership and some fresh energy during the next era for the Department,” she said in a statement.

Customer services minister Jihad Dib thanked Ms Hogan for her leadership of the Customer Service team through a period of major upheaval in the state, including natural disasters and Covid-19.

“Through her time as Secretary, she has demonstrated her absolute commitment to delivering digital innovation and improved customer outcomes for the NSW community,” Mr Dib said.

Miss Hogan will remain in the role until the end of November or until the appointment of  a new Secretary.
