SA inks whole of government agreement with Salesforce

South Australia has entered into a five year whole-of-government agreement with US-based CRM software company Salesforce.

The non-mandated agreement is designed to help agencies accelerate their digital transformation and improve customer experience and employee productivity, the government says.

It means all government departments and agencies will have a standardised way to access Salesforce’s technology, which is currently used by various government agencies including SA Health, Education, Human Services and the SA Housing Authority.

“We are committed to supporting the South Australian Government to innovate service delivery and discover new efficiencies and productivity,” General Manager Public Sector for the APAC Barry Dietrich said in a statement.

Joint initiatives to continue

The new agreement replaces a deal signed with Salesforce in 2015 and confirms two key initiatives launched last year, including an MoU signed in February 2022 to pilot the company’s Net Zero Cloud, which tracks and reports environmental data.

SA has also paired with Salesforce and industry partners to found the Indo-Pacific Accounting Lab, which will build data infrastructure and carbon accounting systems.

The state’s Department for Trade and Investment is seeking commercial and research partners for the Indo-Pacific Carbon Accounting Lab to develop ESG solutions in South Australia for global export.
