Printing panel saves millions for SA

Printing suppliers on a South Australian Government panel will help cost savings over a three year term.

A saving of $6 million will be made over the three year term for the SA Government based on price reductions.

The printer and multifunction device panel will include Canon Australia Pty Ltd, Fuji Xerox Pty Ltd, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Australia Pty Ltd and Ricoh Australia Pty Ltd.

Finance and Public Sector Minister, Michael O’Brien said expenditure under the panel is estimated at $50 million over the initial three-year term.

“It will deliver an estimated average reduction of 24 per cent on the price of multifunction devices and 33 per cent on printers compared with previous arrangements,” Mr O’Brien said.

Mr O’Brien said all government agencies would use the new arrangement and benefit from ongoing competitive pricing.

According to the SA Government, the panel commenced on July 1, 2012 and will expire on June 30, 2015.

The state government has the option to extend the arrangement for up to two additional periods of three years.
