WA funds Wheatbelt growth

WA Lands Minister Brendon Grylls announced ten residential lots to be built in Dalwallinu, seven in Dowerin, and a further ten in Hyden.

The plan will be operated under LandCorp’s Regional Development Assistance Program (RDAP) to build residential lots in the selected areas.
Mr Grylls said RDAP funding through LandCorp helps to overcome economic roadblocks to such projects.

The State-wide initiative focuses on developing residential or light industrial land in regional towns where there is limited or no private sector land development activity.

“The frustration in the past has been that while such developments were considered important to the economic and social growth of a town, they were not seen as economically viable by private developers,” Mr Grylls said.

Direct Contracting, a regional civil construction contractor based in Jurien Bay will undertake Dalwillinu’s residential construction.
