Ms Olsen, who joined the Victorian government-owned retail water corporation in 2020, has previously held positions at ARENA as well as Tesla Energy, CitiPower and Powercor.

Solar Victoria CEO Stan Krpan said the appointment of Ms Olsen and five new members to the Industry and Consumer Reference Group (ICRG) would bring new perspectives to the organisation, including on digital automation of energy resources and volume home builders.

Ms Olsen said she was delighted to be working with the ICRG.

“Solar Victoria is a key component in delivering on Victoria’s renewable future – enabling customers to install renewable technologies and supporting the growth and development of the clean energy industry,” she said.

Solar Victoria, a portfolio entity within the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, is responsible for delivering the state’s Solar Homes renewable energy programs.

ICRG meets bi-monthly to provide ongoing advice to Solar Victoria and the energy minister on safety, standards, consumer protections, technology, product stewardship, future grid requirements, workforce development and industry diversity.

MS Olsen takes over from outgoing chair Ivor Frischknecht who departs after four years.
