Merry Christmas and HNY from Government News

As we reach the end of 2023, the team at Government News would like to thank our readers and partners for your engagement and support over the last 12 months.

We don’t need to tell you that a week is a long time in government, as a look back at the stories and issues we’ve covered over the past year will attest.

We hope we’ve been able to provide you with a regular feed of news and analysis that informs, inspires, instructs and brings to light the best and worst of public sector activity across all levels of administration, whether it’s digital innovation, the environment, developments in transport and city planning, governance, conduct and misconduct,  or public sector workforce issues.

We’ve got exciting plans for next year with a website redesign and work already underway for the Place Branding Australia 2024 Conference, which will take place in June.

The conference will hear from experts from around Australia about how place branding can bring economic and community benefits to your state, city or LGA, whether you’re a small regional town looking for a way out of a slump, or a thriving city capitalising on existing opportunities.

We’ll be bringing you more information on Place Branding Australia 2024 next year, so watch this space!

Our survey conducted earlier this year told us what we already know – our  readers are a bunch of dedicated, passionate and critical thinking professionals – whatever their field – who have  set a high bar in terms of our content. We hope we can continue to deliver for you in 2024.

Our office will be closing between December 20 and January 4, but in the meantime keep an eye on your inboxes for our special holiday newsletters recaping our top stories and best reads of the last 12 months.

Here’s to a happy festive season, a restful break (if you’re getting one!) and a successful and productive New Year for all.

Judy Skatssoon (Managing Editor)
