Macquarie Group announces new Federal Government head

Macquarie Technology Group has announced the appointment of a new head of Federal Government, with the return to the fold of Michael Davies.

Michael Davies

Mr Davies spent over eight years with Macquarie Technology Group in a number of roles including Head of Revenue, Chief Operation Officer, and Head of Commercial Operations before taking the role of  CEO of health software company Global Health in June 2021 and launching a software and cyber security consultancy this year.

Mr Davies says providing Commonwealth agencies with modular responses to immediate problems will be a key focus of his new role, as well as expanding his team, with the company currently  recruiting for a number of roles.

“I’m thrilled to return to Macquarie in a capacity that allows me to play an active and leading role in further supporting Commonwealth agencies,” he said in a statement.

“At a time when the nation is facing continuing and increasing cyber-attacks, Macquarie Government has transitioned from gateway provider to incorporate a much broader cyber capability. It’s exciting to be returning to the company at such an important time.”

Managing Director Aidan Tudehope said Mr Davies will play a key role as Macquarie Government looks to expand its federal and state customer base.

Maquarie Government currently provides cyber security services to 42 per cent of the federal government and has partnered with the NSW government to build the state’s Cyber Security Centre of Excellence.
