Hume solar matters

The town of Hume has benefited from Energy Matters’ 29.6kW solar roof lease installation.

Minister for Energy Simon Corbell said the installation is one of Australia’s first solar roof leases of this scale.

Solar roof installations are among the first clean energy investments in the ACT, which will eventually approach $1.3 billion.

“It demonstrates on the many ways businesses and the community can cooperate to invest in renewable energy and work towards a more sustainable future,” Mr Corbell said.

According to Mr Corbell, solar installation of this size could be suitable for a number of large buildings and open space across the Territory.

He welcomed local businesses “making better use of this space by allowing others access to harness renewable energy”.

The proponents Energy Matters and Ullrich Aluminium will have access to the ACT’s Feed-in Tariff scheme.
