Mayor Ned Mannoun said Mr Ajaka was respected by all sides of politics and was the right person to lead Council as it implemented it ‘Back to Basics’ strategy to deliver more frontline services.

“His appointment today will be a real boost for our city,” Cr Mannoun said in a statement on Wednesday.
