Transforming Sport and Space

Sport and leisure are the vital heartbeat of all communities. In a changing world of urban restrictions, technological explosions and diversity, ‘a carpet and construction’ or ‘one size fits all approach’ is no longer good enough. Polytan as a leader of the sports surfacing industry collaborate and push the boundaries every day with their sister brands to promote innovation and excellence of sporting surfaces, under the management of global powerhouse Sport Group.

Sport Group sells and installs more courts, turfs and tracks globally than any other business and its knowledge, scale and vision is transforming the sports surface industry every day. The group uniquely covers the complete value chain, including R&D, chemicals, manufacturing and installation.

Sport Group’s core companies include Polytan, APT, AstroTurf, Melos, SYNLawn and market leading product brands such as Laykold, LigaTurf, Poligras, Rekortan, Spurtan and many more.

“The future requires businesses who understand the relationship between sport and space is changing; physical play must match the appeal of digital play; a sports space must be as alluring as a virtual space,” Polytan General Manager Paul Kamphuis says.

“We are ready for the future where non-traditional sport will be played in surprising spaces.  Sport Group, Polytan and APT transform how athletes, administrators, installers and owners think about sport and space.”

As the leaders in Sports Surfacing since 1969, Polytan are gearing up for the next fifty years to grow their new sustainable product range even futher, and will continue to meet the worlds sporting, environmental and community needs.
