LGA goes online to highlight project benefits

By Staff Writer

The Local Government Association of South Australia will launch an online advertising campaign this month to highlight the benefits of infrastructure projects to communities.

The LGA television advert will be launched on the internet in early April to highlight the benefit to communities, contractors and jobs of council works projects.

The advert is consistent with the four ‘Shape Your World’ career advertisements made over the past 18 months as a part of the Out of the Ordinary summer series televised on Channel 9.

LGA President, Mayor Joy Baluch said the campaign would help people understand what councils do, along with the important role that council works projects play in upgrading community facilities and providing jobs and work for contractors.

“Whether it’s part of the $450 million we spend on infrastructure a year or part of the Australian Government’s new $800 million community infrastructure program, it’s playing a vital role in these difficult economic times”.

The advert will screen with additional episodes of Out of the Ordinary in April and will be made available to councils in DVD and internet formats.
