Review into local government revenue seeks feedback

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) has released an issues paper as part of its review into the revenue framework for local government in NSW.

In May 2008, the Premier of NSW asked IPART to assist the Department of Local Government (DLG) by conducting a review of the regulation of council rates and charges in NSW.

All interested parties, including councils, community groups and members of the public, are being invited to make submissions on the issues paper by the 29 August 2008.

In the paper available here, IPART has identified 52 issues as being important to the review.

The final report is expected to be completed in September 2009.
