The Tasmanian government has launched an online tool to help business awareness of its information centres.
Eight Enterprise Centres operate in Tasmania, delivery free advice and consulting to small businesses, so the website is intended to bring awareness to those centres.
Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business Rebecca White, said the website was another way to take advantage of the support that’s on offer to small businesses.
“This website will make it easier for businesses around the State to find their nearest Enterprise Centre and access the range of valuable services that are on offer,” Ms White said.
Program Development Officer within the Enterprise Development Unit Heidi Laugesen said Three Squared Visual Communications designed the website, which is a private company based in Hobart.
“They designed it and then they handed over all the editing rights to our in-house website team so that for all editing changes, we can do those ourselves,” Ms Laugesen said.
According to Ms Laugesen, businesses may go through local government do get free venues with the Enterprise Centres.
“It’s just making people more aware of our Enterprise Centres so they can be aware of the consultants who work at each of the centres and the skills they offer.”
She said the website and the Enterprise Centres can assist in how interested parties can help their business to grow or if the businesses lack in skills in certain areas, there are a number of workshops they run each year.
“It’s actually up for tender in 2017, so we’re just reviewing the whole Enterprise Centre concept at the end of the year to make sure we’re meeting the objectives doing the right thing for businesses,” Ms Laugesen said.
Costing for the website is currently unavailable.
