Policy and Strategy for the Innovation Economy

Those in the public sector are facing consistent pressure to not only increase Australia’s prosperity by driving innovation in policy development and service delivery, but also to foster a culture of innovation from within.
To be equipped with the necessary practical and conceptual frameworks to respond to opportunities for innovation, ANZSOG, together with the Australian Innovation Research Centre have designed the workshop Policy and Strategy for the Innovation Economy.
This workshop is designed for:
- Generalist senior executives with responsibility for formulating government programs on innovation
- Executives with responsibility for regulating, licensing or assisting new commercial activities
- Executives with responsibility for national, state and regional economic and industrial development, and R and D initiatives
- Policy advisers with an interest in macro and micro economic settings
- Senior staff with the role of coordinating government policy and whole-of-government actions
Course leader Prof Jonathan West, Director of the Australian Innovation Research Centre, will be joined by presenters with significant expertise in state innovation systems, regional economic development and innovation in industry, as well as a panel member of the recent Review of the National Innovation System.
