Clean technology goes online

Australia’s clean technology industry is to receive a boost by the launch of the first online portal designed to facilitate efficient business and research operations within the emerging sector.

The portal was developed by the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce (AICC) in conjunction with Clean Technology AustralAsia and industry partners such as Freehills, Ernst & Young and Credit Suisse.

Featured on the website is the first draft of the Australian Cleantech Portal entailing six maps, whose themes are water, air, soil, energy, sustainable technologies and non-perishable materials. Each map illustrates the network of relevant products and businesses as a means to increase interactions within the industry.

The portal incorporates over 350 Australian companies in the sector, with more companies expected to be added over time.

According to the AICC, it is projected that over US$15 trillion will be invested in climate change-related products and services over the next decade.
