CIS TO BRING PJ O'ROURKE TO AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
 |
The Centre for Independent Studies is delighted to announce that American author PJ O'Rourke will deliver the Centre's 25th John Bonython Lecture at its annual dinner.
PJ O'Rourke is America's leading political satirist and the best-selling author of 10 books. O'Rourke's career skewering both the left and the right on the ends of his razor-sharp one-liners has included writing in The National Lampoon, American Spectator, Playboy, Esquire, Vanity Fair, Harper's and Rolling Stone. Currently he is a Research Fellow of the Cato Institute and a regular correspondent for The Atlantic Monthly.
O'Rourke's books have been translated into a dozen languages and have been best sellers worldwide. Three have been New York Times bestsellers: Parliament of Whores and Give War a Chance, both of which went to No.1, and All the Trouble in the World. O'Rourke's most recent book On the Wealth of Nations is a witty exploration of Adam Smith's 1776 book, considered the fundamental work of economics.
